The First Day in Berlin

Updated: Jan 27, 2019

After 7 hours long flight, I finally arrived in Berlin. Going to a new country for the first time is always exciting because you have no idea who you are going to meet and what stories they will share with you.

Finding my way to campus took me some time but eventually I managed to do it with some help. A gentleman approached to me after I got off the U Bahn (Subway) and took me to CIEE. It turned out that he works for CIEE.

My first day in Berlin was tiring but of course exciting. I didn't sleep on the flight and the first day has been a long day. I got to know the other student from UC and, finally met with Robby and Marleen. We had a lunch together at a local German restaurant after the orientation. The food was pretty good. One thing I found different at the restaurant was that restaurants in Germany usually provide two options of water: still and sparkle, instead of free tap water like what they do in the states.

In the afternoon, I went to a local cell phone store to get a prepaid sim card and bought some necessities at supermarket. I was so tired that I head back home after that and went to bed around 4 pm.
