When people think of German cuisine most people would think of beer, sausage, and pork knuckle. In fact, there are a lot of other dishes that you can find in Berlin. Since Germany is geographically in the middle of Europe, German cuisine is influenced by other European food culture. Authentic German restaurant also offers classic Eastern European food such as goulash soup from Hungary. The influx of immigrants from Turkey and Asia also bring their food culture to Germany. Besides aforementioned traditional German food, it's impossible to miss out Berlin's famous curry wurst and doner kebab which are literally at every corner of the streets. Curry wurst is basically grilled Germany sausage with curry powder on it and some ketchup sauce on the side for dipping. Doner kebab is a very popular Turkish food. It is basically "Turkish taco". You can find them everywhere in Berlin and they all taste amazing. Local people also love it. The most famous one is called Mustafa Doner Kebab. it's not even a restaurant, it's just a small food booth by the street but people are willing to wait in the line for half hour for one kebab. That's how much Berliners love it.
My favorite restaurant is a doner kebab shop near my company. I would usually buy one doner kebab for lunch and head back to the company kitchen to eat with my colleague. I would definitely recommend anyone who is going to Berlin to try some doner kebab because it's really tasty and insanely affordable - 4 euros on average.
